Filed under: ANG Stitch of the Month Mystery Project
It’s going to be mystery how this will turn out. But, I’m using my stash!
Color Family A – Black: Vineyard Silk Shimmer (S-538), DMC Cotton Floche (310) [in place of Splendor Silk], 24 Karats (K06) [in place of a Krenik #12 Braid], Mill Hill Beads (00081).
Color Family B – Light Gray: Vineyard Silk Shimmer (S-539), Splendor (S891), DMC metallic floss (silver) combined with Splendor (S891) [in place of Silk Lame], Kreinik Fine #8 Braid (001) inserted into the center of Flair (F593) [a tip & trick shared by David McCaskill & I will try in place of a Kreinik #12 braid], DMC metallic floss (silver) [in place of Accentuate metallic].
Color Family C – Med Gray: Vineyard Silk Shimmer (S-536), Splendor (S1118), Rainbow Linen (R469) [in place of a Krenik #12 Braid], Petite Very Velvet (S-616) [in place of a Krenik #16 Braid]

Of course, I reserve the right to swap threads (not color family) if I find the threads just don’t work with the stitches.
I better get started stitching!!!

Thanks for sharing your colors. I have to pull my colors together for this project but I am having a ball watching all the choices bloggers are making. Have a great stitching weekend.
Comment by Kelly January 16, 2010 @ 7:26 pmIt was a good weekend – it rained here on Sunday. So, I got the outline done & the January stitch is working up quickly. Looking forward to checking back in on other bloggers too. It’s alot of fun.
Comment by melitastitches4fun January 18, 2010 @ 5:12 pmI love your colors – mainly because they are very close to the ones I chose – also from my stash! I’m working on grey congress cloth, with the greys, silvers, blacks and a bit of red for contrast. I’ve done the outlines for the first month, now I will sit and wait for the second installment in February. Hopefully, some of my UFO projects will get done while I’m waiting.
Thanks for posting your colors.
Comment by Leigh Shafer January 17, 2010 @ 5:13 amThanks – I am a little worried about no real color for contrast but I’ll see how it goes. I love red & black together. I got the outline done this weekend & the January stitch is working up quickly. So, I’ll be getting back to my ongoing projects soon.
Comment by melitastitches4fun January 18, 2010 @ 5:07 pmHi Melita,
Enjoyed seeing your color selection. Yours is going to be very sophisticated colors. If you want a little bit more contrast, add in some more metallics such as black and more silver or white.
I still haven’t decided what I’m going to use yet. I might wait another month or two to see how the project develops before deciding. I’m leaning towards the blue families with maybe some yellow or cream or red as an accent. Still not sure…
