The pillow cases with the purple edging (thanks to an ANG Yahoo Group member I discovered that these are tatting – not crochet) will go in our guest bedroom nicely. Perhaps, I’ll embroider something on them after I have more experience in this ‘contemporary’ style. For now, I’ll use as is – I’d hate to ruin them.

Think should be Ok—and usually crochet thread doesn’t bleed and think the purple would like nice in your bedroom. Something totally different. Like idea.

Comment by Rachel October 20, 2011 @ 9:36 amI meant ruin from a poor decision on my subject matter and/or technique! I have no doubts about the pillow cases! I selected one of my favorite wedding photos. I’m going to play with tracing it tonight.

Just a quick note to tell you that the edgings on your first three or four pillow cases are done in tatting, not crochet. Some of the later ones are crocheted and are very lovely.
I collect old linens and am taking lessons in tatting so I know the difference. Just so you know.

Thanks so much Dolores. I didn’t realize that – I’ll have to look up tatting. I appreciate up pointing that out for me. I tried knitting but my shoulders tensed up so that I had to give that up. Good luck with your lessons.
