This was done by my grandmother & could be any mountain range but my sister recalls that is that scene is the Grand Tetons. She also recalls that my grandmother dyed the threads for this piece herself by hand.
So, I decided to replace the wall hanging we had over our bed to with the pillow. Springtime in the Grand Tetons!

Comment by Rachel December 19, 2011 @ 1:01 pmHi Rachel, My sister, Anita, tells me that our grandmother took classes over a period of a couple of years. They learned how to choose the colors for the piece, dyed wool that was a natural/neutral color, & cut the wool into small strips using a cutter of some sort like a pizza cutter with multiple circular blades. The Grand Titans was a special learning class project – totally supervised by a teacher. That’s all she remembers.
